Am I easily influenced? Maybe! That TikTok algorithm gets me. It’s like it knows me, better than I know myself.
A couple of weeks ago I saw these adorable ghost blankets from Home Sense/Home Goods (depending on the country.) I then proceeded to look for one at both of our local Home Sense stores. At one, there were two teenage girls who were most definitely looking too. When I couldn’t find them, I thought, I could make that.
I didn’t really have time to crochet a whole blanket, so I bought a faux fur throw from Amazon. Then made up these cute ghosts to sew on. Full disclosure: I haven’t actually sewn them all on the blanket yet, but it will happen before Halloween!
I love how these turned out. I can see them on all sort of things… pillows or a little bunting of them. I might put one on a plain sweatshirt for a super cute Halloween day shirt.

Let’s get into the pattern!
Yarn:
Fable Fur (super bulky, 100% Polyester; 71yds/100g): Colour 1(C1) Eisbar – 0.5 skein, Colour 2(C2) Corvo – very small amount for eyes
Materials:
7.0mm Crochet hook
Yarn Needle
Scissors
Stitch Markers (optional)

The finished ghost is approx. 8.5″ tall and 7″ wide.
Gauge for this project is approximate.
Stitch Guide:
ch – chain
sl st – slip stitch
SC – single crochet
HDC – half double crochet
DC – double crochet
Notes:
- This pattern is worked flat in rows. The ch 1 at the beginning of each row does not count as a stitch.
- My tips for working with faux fur yarn:
- Try to feel the stitches instead of see them
- Count stitches as you go
- Use stitch markers at the end of each row or a row counter
