I did my first solo craft show last spring. (I had only done one other one and shared a booth with my mom.) When I was preparing my stock, I knew I needed to add some spring to the mix… enter Bunny Buddy. I was inspired by the simple round shape of other toys I had seen and wanted to give this little guy a cute outfit. It’s such a cute little toy to add to an Easter basket or as a little decor item for spring.
The Bunny Buddy doesn’t always stand up straight, so this year I began to add little weighted piece to the bottom to give it more stability. The weighted piece is just a small plastic zip-up bag with plastic pellets. I then duct tape all around the bag to keep the plastic from ripping. The tape and baggies I get from the dollar store and I have plastic pellets from Micheals. You can also get them from Amazon (USA / Canada).

- Staggered Increase and Decrease – Whenever I work in the round, I stagger the place in the round that I do my increases and decreases. For more explanation and pictures visit my post on Staggered Increases and Decreases.

FINISHING
Sewing on the Ears
- Sew the ears on right at the top of the bunny attaching the corners first, then the centre.
- Inside corners of the ears should be between rounds 1-2 and the outside corners will be between rounds 3-4.
- Attach the centre of the ear seam back one stitch from the corners. This will give a slight triangle between the 3 points giving the ear dimension.
Sewing on the Arms
- Flatten arm and sew top seam together
- Arms will go on the sides of the body in the same place on both sides.
- Sew seam between rows 11-12 on each side.
Sewing on the Tail
- Sew pom pom on back of bunny so it sits on flush with the bottom of the bunny
